These hand-hammered pins are
the work of an artist in Marietta, Georgia. They are unique conversation
starters and very attractive modern jewelry. The Braille symbols spell
out "Peace," of course. You can choose brass, copper, or silver.
Each pin comes with an informative card about the Braille writing system.
The size of each pin is about 1.5 inches by .5 inches. |

The Peace Dove
The peace dove is often associated with the story
of Noah's ark, in which the dove brought Noah an Olive leaf, signifying the
end of the great flood that had been sent by God to destroy evil in the world.
The dove is also associated with the end of war in Japanese myth and with
the renewal of life in Greek myth. |
The Pax Cultura Peace Banner
The three-dot Pax Cultura symbol
was adopted by several nations in Europe and South Asia as a way to mark cultural
resources that should not be targeted in war. Starting in the early
1900s, banners with this symbol would protect museums and other cultural
or educational institutions, in the same way that the flag with the red cross
would protect hospitals from military attack.
